About this data
Monthly diffusion indexes from the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City's survey of service-sector firms in the Tenth District - Colorado, Kansas, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Wyoming, western Missouri and northern New Mexico - since January 2014. Each index is the share of firms reporting an increase minus the share reporting a decrease, so a reading above zero means expansion. The survey covers retail, wholesale, transportation, real estate, restaurants, health care, professional services and tourism, and is the services counterpart of the Kansas City manufacturing survey. The two seasonally adjusted blocks are shown: conditions versus a month ago and expectations for six months ahead, each with input and selling prices, which make it one of the few regional readings of price pressure outside manufacturing.
