About this data
China's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) on a quarterly basis: cumulative year-to-date scale as officially published by the National Statistics Office of China (second quarter figures represent the six-month cumulative total), growth rates for the three economic sectors, and growth rates for 11 primary industries — including manufacturing, construction, wholesale and retail trade, transportation, finance, real estate, and information technology and software. The industry-specific series reflects single-quarter growth rates, which differ from the cumulative year-to-date growth rates presented above; both calculation methodologies are published by the National Statistics Office and serve distinct analytical purposes, and should not be conflated.
