About this data

Marine Management Organisation monthly provisional statistics on sea fish landed by UK vessels into the UK and abroad, and by foreign vessels into the UK, since January 2019: the live weight of fish and shellfish landed, in tonnes, and its first-sale value, in thousands of pounds. Landings abroad are mostly pelagic catches such as mackerel and herring sold in Norway, Denmark and the Netherlands, so they peak in the first and last quarters of the year. Figures for the two most recent years are provisional and are revised in each monthly release; earlier years are taken from the December release of the following year.
