Japan Cheque Clearing and Dishonoured Bills
Monthly statistics of the Electronic Clearing House operated by the Japanese Bankers Association since it replaced the paper clearing houses in November 2022 (November 2022 covers 4-30 November): number and value of cheques, promissory notes and other instruments cleared, dishonoured bills registered (first-type for lack of funds, second-type for other reasons) and suspension-of-transaction reports, a leading signal of small business failures.
