About this data

The complete German energy balance in its original petajoule unit, read down the transformation chain. Supply: domestic production, imports, exports, net imports, international marine bunkers and primary energy consumption, each by the same energy carriers, with the renewable share alongside. Transformation: the fuel input to public electricity generation and to district heating. Final consumption: the economy as a whole and then industry, commerce and services, households and transport, with transport also split by subsector and road transport by fuel. And the intensity indicators AG Energiebilanzen publishes with the balance - energy per unit of GDP, per capita, per square metre of living space and per unit of transport performance. 1990-2024 are final and 2025 is preliminary.
