About this data

Daily European Central Bank (ECB) policy interest rates, accompanied by the €STR overnight rate to illustrate how the market tracks the policy stance. Details: main refinancing operations (MRO, the benchmark rate), the deposit facility (the floor of the money market, which was negative from September 2019 to July 2022), and the marginal lending facility (the ceiling). Accompanied by the €STR, the euro area's actual unsecured overnight interest rate calculated by the ECB from actual transactions, which replaced EONIA in January 2022. Mathematical verification must always hold: marginal lending facility > MRO > deposit facility, and the €STR remains very close to the deposit facility rate. Note that "IOR" listed separately by some sources is actually the deposit facility rate since 2022 and is therefore not shown as a separate line. Source: European Central Bank (ECB Data Portal).
